Boorelu is a sweet dish prepared with bengal gram dal (Sanaga Pappu) and Jagery


Bengal Gram Dal : 250 gms
Jaggery : 250 gms
Black gram flour : 1 cup
Rice flour : 2 cups
Elachi Powder : 1 tsp
Coconut Shredded : 1 Cup
Salt : 1/2 tsp
Oil for frying


Parboil the bengal gram dal and crush it with spoon or wooden crusher and paste the mixture
Boil little water in a vessel and add jaggery and make it as thick paste
Add the dal paste, jaggery paste,grated coconut and elachi powder and mix it well.
Make the mixture into round balls and keep aside
Take a bowl add black gram dal flour, rice flour, salt add slight water and mix it well to make a smooth batter
Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan
Dip the round balls in the flour batter one by one and fry them till they turn deep brown.
