Minapa Garelu


Black Gram Dal (Urad Dal) : 250 gm
Onion : 3 (medium size)
Green Chilly : 3 pieces
Cumin seeds (Jeera) : 1 tsp
Ginger (finely chopped) : 1 tsp
Oil for frying


Soak the black gram dal for two hours
Grind the soaked dal into tight paste adding very little water
Add chopped onions, ginger, green chilly, cumin seeds and salt to the batter
Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan (Kadai)
Take the paste and spread on your hand in a round shape and make a hole in the middle and fry it till done
Serve hot with ginger chutney or sauce.
