Chicken Chanaga Pappu Curry



Ingredients

Chicken : 500 gms (cut into medium sized pieces)
Bengal gram dal : 1 Cup (soaked)
onion : 3 (2 oinions ground into smooth paste and 1 onion finely chopped)
Green chillies : 2 (Sliced)
Ginger and Garlic paste : 1 tsp
turmeric powder : 1/2 tsp
Garam masala powder : 1 tsp
Red Chilly powder : 1 tsp
salt as per taste

Method

Wash the chicken and marinate with turmeric powder, salt and red chilli powder and keep for 1/2 hour.














Soak the bengal gram dal for 1 hour



















Heat oil in a pan and add sliced onion and green chillies
Add marinated chicken and fry for 5 minutes
Now add soaked dal and fry for 5 minutes
Add onion and ginger garlic paste and fry for few minutes




















Add red chilly powder, garam masala powder and fry for 5 minutes
Add water and cover with a lid and cook till done

Serve hot with rice or chapati
