Bulli Idli - Small Idli


Bulli Idly aka small idly is a kids friendly recipe

Idli is one of the healthy breakfast recipe, but unfortunatley my kids doesn't like it. So I've tried by changing the size of idli and it worked well .
 Now my kids like the small idlies. To prepare small idlies the smae idly batter is used and the idly trays are available in the market. (Each tray accumulates 18 small idlies in the size of 2 rupee coin).




Ingredients

Black gram dal (Urad dal) : 1 cup
Idli rava : 3 cups
Salt : as per tatse

Method


Soak black gram dal and idli rava in water separatesly for 5-6 hours
Grind the soaked urad dal into smooth paste
Squeeze the excess water from idly rave and add it to the ground dal
Add salt and make a thick smooth batter, keep over night for fermentation.
Fill the batter in idly trays and steam cook till done

Serve hot with sambhar or chutney.
