How to make Garam Masala Powder


Garam Masala is a combination of various common spices ground together. It is widely used in Indian cuisine and heart of many Indian Recipes. It can be easily prepared at home and can be stored for months in air tight containers without loosing its aroma.


Here's the simple method for preparing Garam Masala

Ingredients  (For 150 gms Powder)

Corriander seeds : 50 gms














Cumin seeds : 20 gms













Star Anise : 20 gms













Cardamom : 20 gms














Cloves : 20 gms












Cinnamon sticks : 20 gms














Bay leaves : 5













Nutmeg  : 1 piece
Niger seed : 1 piece (Optional)














Method

Roast all the above ingredients in a pan and grind into smooth powder



Store in a clean and dry air tight container
