Mamsam Chanaga Pappu Koora - Mutton Bengal Gram Dal Curry

Goat meat (Mutton) prepared with Bengal gram dal is really a non vegetarian delight which I've learnt from my mother. Here's the method how to prepare it.


Mutton (Goat Meat) : 250 gms     
Bengal Gram dal : 1 cup
Onion : 2 (Chopped)
Green chillies : 3 (Sliced)
Tomato : 2 (Cut into pieces)
Onion, ginger and garlic paste : 2 tsp
Turmeric Powder : 1 tsp
Red Chilly powder : 1 tsp
Curry Masala Powder : 1 tsp
Garam masala Powder : 1 tsp
Coriander leaves
Salt as per taste


Wash and marinate the mutton with turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt
Soak the bengal gram dal for 30 minutes
Pressure cook the marinated mutton for 15 minutes
Heat oil in a wok add chopped onions, green chillies and fry till onions trun into ligh brown color
Add tomato pieces and fry for 2 minutes
Add Curry masala powder and salt fry for few more minutes
Add soaked chana dal and fry on low flame for 3 minutes
Add Garam masala powder and mix well
Add pressured cooked mutton and cook till done

Garnish with oriander leaves before serve hot with rice or roti
