Talakaya Mamsam Pulusu - Goat Head Meat Stew

Goat head meat (Talakaya Mamsam) is one of the most favourite non vegetarin food of Andhra people. It can be prepared in various methods. Here I share one of my favorite goat head meat stew recipe which is very tasty. Just give it a try you really love it

Ingredients

Talakaya Mamsam (goat head meat) : 250 gms













Onion : 2 (Cut into pieces)
Green Chillies : 3 (Slitted)












Tomato : 2 (Cut into pieces)













1 Oinion, 1 inch ginger piece, 6 garlic cloves (Grind into smooth paste) 














Tamarind juice : 1 cup













Curry Masala Powder : 2 tsp
Garam masala powder : 1tsp
Turmeric Powder : 1 tea spoon
Salt : as per taste
Oil

Method

Wash the goat head meat add turmeric powder, salt and water,  pressure cook for 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a karahi (wok) fry the onion and green chilly till onion turns into light pink color
Add Onion, ginger , garlic paste and fry for 3 minues on low flame
Add tomato pieces and fry for 2 minutes
Add curry masala powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well
Add presuure cooked goat head meat and fry for 5 minutes. Keep the meat stock for further use.
Now add the tamarind juice ,meat stcok and cook till done on medium flame.
Serve hot with rice

  1. Hi Hema..this is such a treat dish for me and hubby..I remember the delicious taste growing up when my amma or nanamma made. i'm fortune enough to get burnt goat head here in Canada too now a days..so i make this now and then..nice to know u r from vizag too..

  2. its a great dish,i love it,In childhood whenever i had cold my mom used to cook it for me later i become addicted to this taste.my mom adds chillies while cooking in cooker..but this looks great,..and recipe also gave me almost same taste as my mother's
