How to make Sambhar Powder



Sambhar is a famous South Indian Recipe. It's a vegetable stew made with Dal and Tamarind juice and vegetable like Radish, Carrot, Drum sticks, Onion, Tomato etc. The main ingredient in this vegetable stew to get the taste of Sambhar is Sambhar Powder.
Here's the simple method for preparing Sambhar Powder instantly at home. which can be stored for weeks without losing it's freshness and aroma, when stored in a dry air tight container.

Ingredients (For 150 gms powder)



Coriander Seeds : 100 gms


Bengal Gram (Chana Dal) : 2 tea spoons


Black Gram Dal (Urad Dal) : 2 tea spoons


Red Chillies : 10


Fenugreek Seeds (Methi) : 1 tea spoon


Cumin Seeds (Jeera) : 1 tea spoon


Black pepper seeds : 1 tea spoon


Curry leaves : 12


Asafoetida (Hing) : 1 tea spoon


Oil : 2 tea spoon for roasting



Method

Heat oil in a pan, lightly roast all the ingredients and grind into a coarse powder after cooling
Store in a clean and dry container.
