Sanaga Pappu Pachadi - Chana Dal Chutney is a simple chutney recipe prepared with Chana dal (Bengal gram) used as a side dish with Idli, Vada or Dosa etc.
Sanaga Pappu (Chana Dal) : 1 cup
Green Chillies : 4
Garlic Cloves : 6
Curry Leaves : 10
Salt : As per taste
Oil : 2 table spoons
Red Chillies (Whole) : 2
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves : 10
Oil : 2 tea spoons
Heat oil in a pan add Chana dal, Green chillies, Garlic cloves, curry leaves and fry on slow flame for 3 minutes.
Grind all the above roasted ingredients into thick paste.
Add salt according to the taste
For tampering heat oil in a pan
Add red chillies, mustard seeds, curry leaves and fry till mustard seeds starts splitting.
Pour them over the ground chana dal paste
Serve with idli or dosa as a side dish
