Here's something different to try if kids get bored with routine 2 minute Maggie Noodles. Chow Mein is a Chinese dish prepared with noodles either with vegetables or eggs, chicken, meat, pork etc. There are so many varieties of Chow Mein.
In this kids friendly vegetable chow mein recipe I used capsicum and chilly sauce to give it a spicy touch.
Noodles : 1 packet
Carrot : 2 (Grated)
Capsicum : 2 (chopped)
Onion : 2 (Chopped)
Green Chillies : 3 (Slitted)
Chilly Sauce : 3 tea spoons
Soy Sauce : 2 tea spoons
Tomato sauce : 3 tea spoons
Vinegar : 1 tea spoon
Salt : As per taste
Oil : 1 table spoon
Boil water in a vessel add noodles and cook for 3 minutes. Do not over cook the noodles.
Drain the hot water and rinse noodles with cold water 2-3 times and keep aside (For more crispy noodles dry the noodles under a fan.)
Heat oil in a wok (karahi) add sliced onions, green chillies and fry till onions turns into pink in color.
Add grated carrot, sliced capsicum and fry for 3 minutes.
Add salt as per taste.
Add boiled noodles and gently stir fry for 2 minutes.
Add Chilly sauce, Soy sauce, tomato sauce as per taste and mix well.
Add vinegar and stir fry for 2 minutes.
Serve hot with tomato sauce or ketchup
