Vegetable Fried Rolls

Vegetable fried roll is a kids friendly yummy, delicious and healthy snack recipe prepared with vegetables and all purpose flour. This snack is very tasty and extremely easy to prepare.

Ingredients (for 12 pieces)

For cover 

All purpose flour (Maida) : 250 gm
Baking powder : 2 tea spoons
Milk 
Salt : As per taste (approx 1 tea spoon)

For filling

Cabbage : 1 cup (finely chopped)
Carrot     : 1 cup (Grated)
Green Peas : 1 cup (boiled)
Onion : 2 (Finely chopped)
China salt (Ajinomoto): 1 tea spoon (adjust the quantity as per taste)
Black pepper powder : 2 tea spoons
Soy Sauce : 3 tea spoons
Tomato Sauce : 3 tea spoons
Chilly Sauce : 2 tea spoons (Optional)
Oil for deep fry



Method

For making dough for cover

Take a bowl add All purpose flour (Maida), baking powder, salt as per taste and mix well. 
Make tight dough with the flour by adding little milk at a time,  cover the dough with thin damp cloth and keep for 2 hours.


For filling

Heat oil in a pan add chopped onions and fry for 2 minutes
Add chopped cabbage, grated carrot, boiled green peas and stir fry on slow flame for 3 minutes.
Add China salt, soy, tomato sauce and mix well
Add green chilly sauce (optional) and mix well
Finally add black pepper powder, stir fry on slow flame for 1 minute and set aside

For making vegetable rolls

Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and make round ball shapes of 2 to 3 inch size.
Roll each ball into flat bread shape as shown in the picture.
Place 1 table spoon of vegetable filling on the rolled flat bread
Roll and seal all the ends as shown in the picture (Rolls can be rolled into any desired shape like triangle, oval, sphere etc.)
Repeat the process with all the dough balls.
Heat oil enough for deep fry in a wok or pan and deep fry the vegetable rolls on medium flame till they turn into golden yellow color both sides
Yummy vegetable fried rolls are ready for serve
Serve hot with tomato ketchup

  15. These look wonderful. I am unfamiliar with "China Salt" though. Since there is no other reference to salt in the recipe, I assume it is either salt from China (Chinese salt) or monosodium glutamate.

  16. Hi Anthony, your assumption is right. Chinese salt is the familiar name of Mono-sodium Glutamate(MSG)commonly sold under the brand name Ajinomoto. I've forgotten to include its brand name in my post. Many many thanks for reminding me.
