Green Chilli Fritters

Green Chilli Fritters is a most common evening snack in India. It is one of the best snacks to beat the chill out of chilly evenings in winter.In Telugu language it's known as "Pachi Mirapakaya Bajji" and in Hindi as "Mirch Pakoda". It's also a best tea time snack in rainy season. Here's the simple "Pachi Mirapakaya Bajji' recipe. Which is very spicy and easy to prepare.


Green Chillies (Large size) : 10
Gram flour (Besan) : 1 cup
Baking powder : 1/2 tsp
Carom seeds : 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep fry
For garnishing

Onion : 2 (Finely chopped)
Ground nuts : 100 gm (Deep fried)
Lemon juice : 2 teaspoons


Make a thick batter with Gram flour(Besan) by adding baking powder, carom seeds, little water at a time, add salt as per taste and mix well.
Wash the green chillies
Heat oil in a wok/karahi.
Dip each green chilli in the Gram flour(Besan) batter and deep fry on medium flame till they turn into golden yellow in color.
Spicy Green Chilli Fritters are ready to serve.
Split the fritters with the help of a knife, garnish with chopped onion, fried ground nuts, sprinkle lemon juice and serve hot with sauce.
