Moong Dal Cabbage Vada

Cabbage is one of the best leafy green vegetable with numerous health benefits and called as the "drug of the poor". It makes a very good combination with Green gram (Moong Dal/Pesara Pappu). Here's a perfect winter snack recipe "Moong Dal Cabbage Vada", prepared with Moong Dal and cabbage. This snack is very tasty and extremely easy to prepare.

Green gram (Moong Dal) : 1 cup
Cabbage : 1 cup (Grated) 
Ginger : 1 inch size piece
Green chillies : 3
Garam masala powder : 2 tea spoons
Corriander powder (dhania powder): 2 tea spoons
Salt to taste
Oil for deep fry


Wash and soak the green gram (moong dal) for 15 minutes.
Grind Green gram, ginger and green chillies into thick smooth paste.
Add grated cabbage, garam masala powder, corriander powder,salt to the ground dal paste and mix well.
Heat oil in deep bottomed pan/wok 
Make flat round shapes with the above mixture and deep fry on medium flame, till they turn into golden brown color both the sides.
Serve hot with Sauce or Imli Ki Chutney
