Perugu Pesara Punugulu - Dahi Moong Dal Vada

Green gram (Moong Dal) is a very healthy food with high protein and less fat. It is very easily digestible and tasty too.
Here's is a healthy snack recipe which is a combination of another tea time snack "Moong Dal Fritters" with curd. This easy to prepare just like Dahi Vada type snack is very tasty and delicious.

Ingredients (For Moong Dal Fritters)

Splitted Green gram (Moong Dal) : 1 cup
Onion : 1 (large)
Green Chilly : 2
Ginger : 1 inch piece 
Baking powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Red chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Salt as per taste
Oil for deep fry

For seasoning 

Curd (Dahi) : 2 cups
Ginger : 1 inch piece (finely chopped)
Black gram : 1 tea poon
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Red Chilly (Whole) : 2
Curry leaves : 1 bunch
Salt : As per tatse
Oil : 2 tea spoons

Method (For making moong dal fritters)

Making seasoned curd

Beat the curd with a beater and set aside
Heat oil in a pan, add black gram, mustard, cumin seeds, chopped ginger, red chilly and curry leaves fry till mustard starts splitting. 
Add salt as per taste and mix well. 
Add the fried ingredients to the beaten curd and mix well.

Making "Perugu Pesara Punugulu"

Dip each moong dal fritter in cold water, remove immediately squeeze the excess water.
Soak all the moong dal fritters in the above prepared seasoned curd and soak at least one hour, allowing the fritters to absorb sufficient curd. 
Garnish with Imli Ki Chutney or Sauce and serve.
