Pakam Punugulu

Pakam Punugulu is another variation of my earlier posted kids friendly sweet dish Pala Punugulu (Milk Fritters). The word  "Pakam" in Telugu language means "Thick syrup". In this recipe Pala Punugulu (Milk Fritters) dipped in thick sugar syrup to make Pakam Punugulu which are juicy and very tasty.
Ingredients (For Pala Punugulu)

Milk : 1 cup
All purpose flour (Maida) : 1 cup
Wheat flour : 1 cup
Coconut (Grated) : 1 cup
Sugar : 1 cup
Cardamom Powder : 2 tea spoons
Baking powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Oil for deep fry

For Pakam (Sugar syrup)

Sugar : 300 gm (Adjust the quantity as per taste)
Cardamom powder : 1 tea spoon
Water

Method

Mix all purpose flour, wheat flour, cardamom powder, grated coconut, sugar and baking powder together.
Add milk to the above mixture and make thick smooth dough.
Heat oil in a wok/ karahi
Make small round shapes with the dough and deep fry in the oil till they turn into golden yellow in color
Boil water in a vessel add sugar, cardamom powder and make thick syrup by stirring continuously on low flame.
Dip the Pala Punugulu (Milk fritters) in sugar syrup.
Delicious "Pakam Punugulu" is ready to serve.
Serve at room temperature.
