Chicken :: 500 gm (Cut into small pieces)
Green peas (Mattar) : 150 gm
Tomato : 2
Onion : 3 (Large sized) (2 for paste and 1 finely chopped)
Green chilly : 3 (Finely chopped)
Ginger : 1 inch piece
Garlic : 6 cloves
Curry Masala Powder : 2 tea spoons
Garam Masala Powder : 2 tea spoons
Turmeric powder : 1 tea spoon
Red chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Oil : 2 table spoons
Wash and marinate the chicken pieces with 1 tea spoon each turmeric powder, red chilly powder and salt for 20 minutes.
Grind 2 onions, ginger and garlic cloves into smooth paste in a kitchen grinder.
Heat oil in a wok/karahi
Add chopped onion, green chillies and fry for one minute on medium flame.
Add marinated chicken pieces and fry on low flame for five minutes,
Add ground onion, ginger and garlic paste mix well, stir fry on low flame for five more minutes.
Add one tea spoon turmeric powder, two tea spoons curry masala powder and salt as per taste and mix well.
Add green peas (mattar) and fry on low flame for two minutes.
Add chopped tomato and stir fry on medium flame for two minutes.
Add garam masala powder and stir fry for one minute.
Add enough water to cover all the chicken pieces and cook on high flame till done.(Around 10 to 15 minutes).
Serve hot with rice or roti.
