Drumstick Kurma

Drumstick is one of the most often ignored vegetable with many medicinal values and nutritional benefits.It's also referred as wonder stick by the health experts. Here's is a very healthy and tasty recipe "Drumstick Kurma" with this wonder stick. Know more about the health benefits of drumstick here.

Ingredients

Drumsticks : 5
Sesame seeds : 3 tea spoons
Poppy seeds (Khas-khas) : 1 tea spoon
Ground nuts : 25 gm
Coconut (Dry) : 3 inch long piece
Ginger garlic paste : 1 tea spoon
Onion : 2 (Finely chopped)
Tomato : 1(Chopped)
Coriander powder : 1 tea spoons
Red chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Black gram 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves : few
Salt to taste 
Oil : 1 table spoon

Method

Wash and cut the drumsticks into 2 inches pieces.
Boil the drumstick pieces with one tea spoon salt in water for 10 minutes and set aside.
Roast the Sesame seeds, Poppy seeds, dry coconut and ground nuts on low flame for five minutes.
Grind the roasted Sesame seeds, Poppy seeds, ground nuts and dry coconut into smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan or karahi. Add mustard seeds. cumin seeds and curry leaves, fry till mustard seeds starts splitting. 
Add chopped onions and fry till onion turns into light pink in color.
Add chopped tomato and fry on low flame for 2 minutes.
Add coriander powder, red chilly powder, salt as per taste, mix well and fry on low flame for 1 minute.
Add ginger, garlic paste and stir fry on low flame for 1 minutes.
Add boiled drumstick pieces and mix well.
Add ground sesame, ground nut, poppy seeds, dry coconut paste to it and fry on low flame for one more minute.
Add water and cook on high flame for five minutes.
Healthy and delicious Drumstick Kurma is ready to serve.
Garnish with coriander leaves or mint leaves .
Serve hot with rice or roti.
