Chicken Sorrel Leaves Curry - Chicken Gongura

Gongura Chicken (Chicken Sorrel leaves Curry) is a famous Andhra non veg recipe which is prepared with chicken and fresh sorrel leaves.
Sorrel leaves makes very good combo with chicken and this slightly tangy dish is very tasty and easy to prepare
Ingredients

Chicken : 500 gm 
Sorrel leaves (Gongura) : 2 bunch
Onion : 4
Ginger garlic paste : 1 table spoon
Green chillies : 4
Tomato paste : 1 cup
Red chilly powder: 2 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 2 tea spoons
Curry Masala powder :  2 tea spoons
Garam Masala powder : 2 tea spoons
Red chillies (Whole) : 2
Black gram (Urad dal) : 1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Curry leaves : Few
Salt to taste
Oil : 2 table spoons

Method

Wash and marinate chicken with 1 tea spoon turmeric powder, 1 tea spoon red chilly powder and 1 tea spoon salt for one hour.
Heat oil in a wok/karahi add chopped onions, green chillies and fry till onions turn into light pink in color.
Add ginger garlic paste and fry for two minutes.
Add marinated chicken and fry on slow flame for 10 minutes.
Add 1 tea spoon curry masala powder, garam masala powder. salt to taste and fry on lo flame for 2 minutes.
Add water and cook the chicken till almost done
Wash and cut the sorrel leaves
Heat oil in a pan, add black gram, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies (whole), curry leaves and fry till mustard starts splitting.
Add 1 chopped onion and fry for one minute.
Add 1 tea spoon turmeric powder, red chilly powder and mix well
Add tomato paste and fry for three minutes.
Add sorrel leaves and cook till the sorrel become tender.
Now add the above cooked chicken and cook on medium flame till the gravy thickens
Delicious Gongura Chicken is ready for serve.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
