Bananas are good source of antacids which are very helpful for digestive system and also they protect from stomach ulcers. Raw plantain are normally used to make curries and chips in India. Here's an healthy and very tasty "Plantain Tomato Curry" recipe from Hema's Kitchen.
Raw plantain (Aratikayalu ) : 2
Tomatoes : 3 ( cut into small pieces)
Onions : 2 (finely chopped )
Green chilies : 2 (finely chopped )
Ginger, garlic paste : 1 teas poon
Curry masala powder : 2 tea spoons
Oil : 1 table spoon
Salt to taste.
MethodHeat oil in a pan add chopped onions and green chilies fry till they turn into light brown.
Add plantain (Aratikaya) pieces fry for 2 minutes.
Add curry masala, salt and ginger,garlic paste fry for 2 minutes.
Now add tomato pieces fry on low flame for 5 minutes.
Add 1 cup of water and cook till done.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
