Here is a very healthy, easily digestible Indian breakfast recipe Upma prepared with rice grains and yogurt.
Rice grains : 1 cup
Yogurt : 1 cup
Cashew nuts : few
Green chillies : 2
Red chillies : 2
Curry leaves : few
Coriander leaves : few
Ginger : 1 inch piece (finely chopped)
Black gram dal : 1 tea spoon
Mustard : 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Bengal gram dal : 1 tea spoon
Oil or Ghee : 1 table spoon
Salt to taste
Take a bowl. Add two cups of water for 1 cup of rice grains.
Boil on low flame till rice grains becomes tender and keep it aside.
Now heat Oil or Ghee in a pan. Add Bengal gram.Black gram, Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds, Cashew Nuts, fry till the mixture turns light Brown
Then add curry leaves, green chillies, ginger, coriander leaves and red chillies.
Now add yogurt and mix well gently.
Add salt and boiled rice grains. Cook on low flame till done.
Serve hot with coconut chutney.
