Aviri kudumu is a famous south Indian breakfast recipe generally prepared with the batter of black gram dal and coarsely ground rice( Rice ravva).To give additional nutrition, soaked bengal gram dal was added to the recipe "Chenagapappu Aviri Kudumu".
Black gram dal : 1 cup
Rice Ravva : 11/2 cup
Bengal gram dal :1/4 cup
Ginger : 1 inch piece (fnely chopped)
Green chillies : 4 (chopped)
Salt to taste
Soak Black gram dal and bengal gram dal in water separately for 5 hours .
Boil bengal gram dal for 5 minutes on low flame.
Grind the soaked black gram dal into smooth paste.
Add rice ravva,salt and make a thick smooth batter, keep over night for fermentation.
Add soaked and boiled bengal gram dal, chopped ginger and green chillies to the above batter.
Take a thin cotton cloth, spread it over a steel plate and then pour the mix on the cloth.
Put the plate inside a pressure cooker and pressure cook the batter for 10 minutes.
Serve hot with Groundnut chutney or sambhar.
