Mint Pepper Rice

Delicious "Mint Pepper Rice"  prepared with Indian aromatic Basmati rice and mint leaves from Hema's Kitchen.

Basmati rice : 1 cup
Mint leaves: 1 bunch
Cloves : 4
Cardamom : 3
Bay leaves : 2
Cinnamon (Dalchini) : 2 (medium pieces)
Garam masala powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Carrot : 1(cut to into small pieces)
Black pepper  : 1 tea spoon (coarsely grinded)
Oil or  Ghee : 1 table spoon
Salt to taste


Boil the rice and keep aside.
Wash mint bunches, remove woody parts and make smooth paste.
Heat oil or ghee in a pan add cloves, cinnamon, cardamom and bay leaves fry for 1 minute.
Add carrot pieces fry for 2 minutes on low flame.
Add mint paste and fry till the rawness in mint diminishes.
Add garam masal powder, black pepper powder fry for 1 minute.
Now add cooked rice and salt mix well.
Serve hot with raita.
