Sesame Flour & Dry Prawn Curry

Sesame flour (known as Thelagapinidi in Telugu) is made from de fatted sesame seeds. This flour is gluten free and very rich source of  protein.
It contains less fat and very low carbohydrates. It is normally used in making breads and cakes. In Andhra Cuisine it is used in making different types of veg and non veg curries. Here's a non veg curry prepared with Sesame Flour (Thelagapinfi) and dry prawns which is very tasty and worth giving a try.

Ingredients

Sesame flour : 1 cup
Dry prawns : 1/2 cup
Garlic pods : 15
Black gram dal : 2 teaspoons
Mustard seeds : 1 teaspoon
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Red chillies : 3
Curry leaves : few
Turmeric powder : 1/2 teaspoon
Red chilly powder :1/2 teaspoon
Salt to taste
Oil : 1 table spoon

Method

Take a vessel boil water and add salt and sesame powder stir well continuously on low flame till the water evaporates and mixture turns powdery, keep it aside.
Wash the dry prawns thoroughly and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan add black gram dal, garlic pods, cumin seeds, mustard seeds,red chillies, curry leaves
Fry till they turns golden brown.
Add dry prawns and turmeric powder and fry for 2 minutes.
Add red chilly powder, salt and boiled sesame powder mix well fry for 2 minutes on low flame.
Serve hot with rice.
