Bobbaralu Beerakaya Kura- Black eyed peas & Ridge gourd curry



Ridge gourd helps in purification of blood as well as strengthening of immune system against infections.
Black eyed peas(Bobbarlu) is a rich source of Pottasium and is essential mineral required for humans.One serving of balck peas contributes to 50% of the Pottasium required for the day.Here is a Curry prepared with balck eyed peas with ridge gourd, which is nutritious with good health benefits.


Ingredients:

Ridge gourd (Beerakayalu) : 2 (Peel and cut into medium size pieces)
Black eyed peas ( Bobbarlu ) : 1 cup (Boiled )
Coconut (Grated) : 2 table spoons
Butter : 2 tea spoons
Oil : 3 tea spoons
Ginger & Garlic paste : 1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spoon
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Green chilies : 2
Onion : 1 (Chopped)
Red chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Coriander leaves : Few
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste


Method:

Heat oil and butter in a pan add  mustard seeds, cumin seeds, green chilies, and onions  fry  for 1 minute add turmeric powder  ridge gourd pieces  fry for 2 minutes on low flame now add boiled black eyed peas, salt, red chilly powder and ginger, garlic paste fry for 5 minutes on low flame.
Finally add grated coconut and coriander leaves cook till done.



Serve hot with Rice or Roti.
