Chalimidi is a traditional Andhra sweet dish which is normally prepared with rice flour and sugar or jaggery.

Rice : 2 cups (soaked for 4 to 5 hours)
Sugar or jaggery : 2 cups
Cardamom powder : 2 tea spoons
Cashew nuts : few 
Coconut pieces : 1/2 cup
Poppy seeds : 3 tea spoons
Ghee : 1/2 cup

Method :

Make a powder of soaked and drained rice, and keep it covered.
Heat ghee in a pan fry coconut pieces and cashew nuts till it turns light brown.
Now fry poppy seeds till it turns light brown.
Boil little water in a pan add sugar and make a thick sugar syrup by continuous stirring.
Add cardamom powder, ghee and rice powder to it slowly, stirring all the time that no lumps are formed.
Remove from flame add coconut pieces, poppy seeds and cashew nuts mix well.
Chalimidi  is ready to serve.
