Pesalu Kobbari Vepudu - Whole Green Gram Dal Coconut Stir Fry

Whole green gram dal is a heathy food rich in  potassium, phosphorus, calcium,magnesium and carbohydrates.These minerals are required daily in our balanced diet which are available as whole in green gram dal. One should eat it daily in one way or the other. This can be eaten raw after soaking in water or by making sprouts. As a variety, I tried green gram dal coconut stir fry which can be eaten with rice or can be eaten directly by mixing lemon juice in it.
Ingredients :

Whole green gram dal (pesalu) : 1cup
Grated coconut : 1/2 cup
Onion : 1 (chopped )
Green chillies : 2
Red chilli : 2
Curry leaves : few
Mustard seeds : 1 tea spoon 
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Black gram dal : 2 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 1 tea spoon 
Red chilli powder : 1 tea spoon
Oil : 1 table spoon
Salt to taste

Method : 

Soak Green gram dal for 5 hours.
Boil soaked green gram dal by adding little salt till dal turns soft.
Heat oil in a pan add black gram dal, mustard seeds, cumin seeds, fry till mustard starts splitting.
Add chopped onions, green chillies, red chillies. curry leaves, fry till onions turns light brown.
Add turmeric powder, boiled green gram dal , red chilly powder, fry for 2 minutes on low flame.
Finally add grated coconut and salt mix well, fry for 3 more minutes on low flame.
Green gram dal coconut stir fry is ready to serve.

Serve hot with Rice or Roti
