Pesara Pappu Pulagam

Pulagam a traditional holy recipe is believed to be the favourite food of Lord Venkateswara which is offered as Naivedyam (sacrad food) while performing pooja.
It is also offered as Naivedyam (sacrad food) Lord Durga during the Navratri celebrations. It is a tasty and highly nutritious recipe much liked by children and it is very easy to prepare. Ingredients :

Rice : 1 cup
Moong dal (pesara pappu) : 1 cup
Whole black pepper : 1 tea spoon 
Cashew nuts : few
Ghee : 1/2cup
Salt to taste

Method :

Wash the rice and dal.
Add water in the mixture in ratio 1:3 (3 cups water for 1 cup of rice and dal mixture)
Cook till they turns soft.
Heat ghee in a pan, add whole black pepper and cashew nuts fry till cashews turn light brown.
Add fried ingredients, ghee into above cooked rice and dal mixture.
Add salt and mix well.
Serve hot with Pickle.
