Chilakada Dumpa Halwa - Sweet Potato Halwa

Here is a tasty and easy sweet recipe, which is prepared with sweet potatoes (chilakada dumpa).

Ingredients :

Sweet potato : 1 (large)
Sugar : 1 cup
Cardamom powder : 2 tea spoons
Ghee : 1/4 cup
Cashews : few
Raisins : few
Salt : little pinch

Method :

Wash and peel the sweet potato remove ends , grate it and keep aside.
Heat ghee in a pan, add cashews when cashews turns light brown, add raisins and remove from heat.
Fry the grated sweet potato in the remaining ghee for 2 minutes on low flame and add 1 cup water cook on low flame till sweet potato turns soft.
Add sugar, little pinch of salt, cardamom powder and mix well.
Cook whole mixture on low flame until it turns into thick paste.
Remove from heat and garnish with fried cashews and raisins.
Sweet potato halwa is ready to serve.
Serve hot or cold
