Sanaga Pindi Chakki - Besan Burfi

This tasty sweet is prepared with gram flour (sanaga pindi) and sugar. It is delicious and a must try recipe.

Ingredients :

Gram flour (sanaga pindi) : 2 cups
Sugar : 1 cup
Ghee : 1 cup
Cardamom powder : 1 tea spoon
Pistachios : few

Method :

Heat ghee in a pan, add gram flour and roast it on low flame while stirring continuously for 15 minutes.
Add cardamom powder in to above roasted gram flour, remove from heat and let it cool.
Boil 1 cup of water in a pan, add sugar and make thick syrup by continuous stirring, remove from heat and let it cool for 5 minutes,
Now add roasted gram flour into above syrup and mix well.
Pour the above mixture into greased plate, spread it and garnish with pistachios.
Let it cool and then cut into square shapes and serve.


  1. I am a big fan of burfi but just a small amount esp for the sweetness after a meal. Its so tempting and awesomely prepared.
