Rice : 250 gms
Gooseberry (Amla) : 5 (cut into pieces)
Turmeric powder : 1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds : 2 tea spoons
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Ground nuts : 2 table spoons
Black gram dal : 2 tea spoons
Bengal gram dal : 2 tea spoons
Red chillies : 4
Green chillies 3
Curry leaves : few
Sugar : 1 tea spoon
Asefoetida : 1/2 tea spoon
Oil : 1 table spoon
Salt to taste
Add Turmeric powder in cooked rice and keep aside.
Boil the gooseberry pieces till they turns soft and let it cool.
Grind the boiled gooseberry pieces into smooth paste.
Heat oil in a pan,add black gram dal, bengal gram dal, ground nuts, green chillies, red chillies, cumin seeds, curry leaves and mustard seeds,fry till the ingredients turn light brown.
Now pour gooseberry paste, asefoetida,sugar, salt and all fried ingredients in the rice and mix it well.
Usirikaya pulihora (Amla rice) is ready to serve.
