Mulakkada Charu

"Mulakkada Charu" is a simple and delicious rasam recipe. It prepared with drumsticks and tamarind juice.
Ingredients :
Drumsticks : 2 ( Cut into 2 inch pieces)
Tomato : 1 ( cut into small pieces)
Tamarind Juice : 1 cup
Onion : 1 (chopped)
Green chilies : 3
Curry leaves : few
Coriander leaves : few
Coriander powder : 2 tea spoon
Garlic pods : 5 to 6
Red chilies : 2
Asafoetida : 1/2 tea spoon
Turmeric powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Red chilly powder : 1 tea spoon
Mustard seeds : 2 tea spoon 
Cumin seeds : 1 tea spoon
Oil : 1 table spoon 
Salt to taste


Method :

Heat oil in a pan add garlic pods, cumin seeds, mustard seeds fry till mustard starts splitting.
Add chopped onions, green chilies, red chilies, curry leaves and fry till onions turn light brown.
Add turmeric powder, drumstick pieces and mix well.
Add salt, asafoetida, tomato pieces, red chilly powder and fry for 2 minutes on low flame.
Add coriander powder, tamarind juice, 1 to 2 cups water into above mixture and let boil for 5 to 7 minutes on low flame.
Garnish with coriander leaves.
Mulakkada charu is ready to serve.
Serve hot with rice.
