Lavanga latalu is another sweet recipe, which is prepared with maida (all purpose flour), cloves and sugar syrup. It is tasty and easy to prepare.
Maida (all purpose flour) : 1 cup
Ghee : 1 table spoon
Cloves : 8 to 10
Sugar : 1 cup
Cardamom powder : 1/2 tea spoon
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying
Boil the 1 cup of water in a pan add sugar, cardamom poeder and make a thick syrup by continuous stirring.
Take a bowl add all purpose flour (maida), salt mix well add melted ghee to it and mix all ingredients together, now made a smooth dough by adding little water to it.
Cover the dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Divide dough into 8 to 10 equal portions.
Roll the dough ball into round shape like puri and fold the edges and seal the ends.
Insert the clove on the top of the sealed edges.
Heat oil in a karahi and fry on low flame till they turn golden brown.
Soak the lavang latalu in warm sugar syrup for 3 to 4 minutes.
Lavanga latalu is ready to eat.
Drain and serve hot.
